New Website

I have recently come to realise that by letting the Redmon website fall into disrepair that we were losing a lot of information about the Club and that there was nowhere recording the Club’s activities for prosperity.  All of our news, results, club records and history were going to be lost, so – I have updated the website.  Hopefully it’s easier to use.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions – email me at webmaster@redmoncc.co.uk.  Some of it is still a work in progress (eg the club records), as I wanted to make it live for the mid summer’s TT and prize presentation on 20 June, in memory of my father Ron Allen, who passed away recently.

I have summarised below how the site now operates.  If you can’t find anything easily, just use the search bar, and please let me know as I will try to fix it.

Home Page

The main body of the home page shows the menu at the top just below the header image. This is explained in detail below. Beneath the menu, the main home page is divided into sections: firstly an introduction to the Redmon, and the latest articles posted. Below this are the latest racing results, the lastest news and newsletter.  And to the right a side bar with links to other areas.

Social Media Bar

The social media bar is the bar at the top of each web page. By clicking on each of the small icons you will open a new page for the Redmon’s home at that website:

Facebook This is a link to the official Redmon Cycling Club Facebook page where members swap stories and some of the latest news and photos are published. Why not ‘like’ us if you haven’t yet.
Twitter This is a link to the official Redmon Cycling Club twitter account (#RedmonCycling) where we will post quick news and comments, such as the next social ride and status of tonight’s evening. Why not follow our account to keep up to date with our activities?
Right Hand Sidebar

Down the right handside, the ‘right hand sidebar’ are several quick tools to help you use our website, social media and the internet (for cyclists).

Stop Press This will be used on an ad hoc basis to make announcements or give news of an upcoming activity.
Redmon Events This shows the calendars of the year’s Redmon events – the club events and open events dates and any other activities.
Online Competition These are short cuts to take you to the Redmon Strava page and the CTT rankings for Redmon members in open events.
Footer

The footer contains useful links, the top read articles, achives, a calendar and Random Redmonters from the past.

Main Menu

The main menu is subdivided into five options and there is a page under each option including the main menu option. The menu structure is as follows:

Home Takes you to the main page
About Us Background to the Redmon, and how to contact a member of the committee.
Club events The calendar for all of the club’s event opens, club racing and social activities.
Trophy Events The calendar for all of the club’s trophy competitions showing the dates and details.
Competition All of the racing results and details about how to win the trophy competitions.
The Coach’s corner and club records.
Members Details of the Club Committee, how to contact them, how to pay your membership fees online, the Club’s History and article acrhives.

I hope that this helps, if not email me!
