The Redmon Cycling Club was founded in 1935, in Morden, Surrey (the club’s name is an anagram of its hometown!) the club has around 100 members, of all ages, including some lifelong members who have been with the club since before the second world war! Many of our members actively race with representatives in most disciplines of the sport, the most popular being Time Trials.
Today we are still based in the Surrey, but have members all over the country. During the Summer months we generally organise a series of evening time trials on a local course near Dorking, although unfortunately at present we have no organiser – but hope to soon. Keep a look out for news. And during the winter our traditional Sunday morning club rides take us through the lanes and quieter roads of Surrey, Kent and Sussex.
We have in the past run up to three open time trials: an early season 25 mile one, a 10 in September and at the end of the season – the very unique Grand Prix de Gentlemen. Unfortunately, circumstances have been against us for 2018, but we hope to run these events in 2019 – see the Racing page for me information.
As a cycling club we are currently affiliated to British Cycling, Cycling Time Trials (London South District) and Southern Countries Cycling Union.
